Getting found online is not one big move, it's a small loop run consistently: reviews make Google trust you, posts keep everything looking alive, and the proof showing up where customers decide closes the deal. Twenty minutes a week runs the whole thing.
Someone can manage your posts and your listing for you. Nobody can ask for a review like the person who did the work. Two moves:
"Hey, I just started taking my business presence online seriously, and reviews from great customers like you are the biggest thing that helps. Can you take a moment and give me a review? [your review link]"
In person is even easier: ask at pickup while they are looking at the finished work. But the existing book of business is the fastest wins you will ever get, so capitalize on it this week.
Ten fresh reviews raise your stars and your map position. Better position brings more customers. More customers, asked consistently, bring more reviews. Six months of the boring routine beats any ad budget a small shop can afford, and it costs nothing but the twenty minutes.
In your Google Business Profile dashboard look for the Ask for reviews button; it gives you a short link made for sharing. Save it as a shortcut in your phone keyboard and the after-job text takes ten seconds.
Read the script above out loud. It is honest, it flatters the customer, and it asks for help rather than a favor for nothing. People who liked your work genuinely want to help; most just were never asked.
From a warm book, roughly a third to half respond within a week if the message is personal. Twenty texts for seven reviews is a trade you take every time.
Rather have someone who does this every day handle it? That's the $75/mo plan. Or keep going solo, that's the whole point of these guides.
