One Page Per Service: The Cheapest SEO Win in Local Search

June 10, 2026 · Nick Lavelle · Bad Habit Design

Here is a thing about Google that surprises most business owners: it does not rank your business. It ranks pages. And a page can only rank well for the thing it is clearly about.

The problem with the everything page

Most small business sites cram every service into one page: brakes, transmissions, AC, inspections, all in one paragraph. To Google, that page is "about" all of it, which means it is not strongly about any of it. Meanwhile a competitor with a dedicated brake repair page wins the brake searches, every time.

One clear page per money-making service is the highest return, lowest cost SEO move a local business can make. No tricks, just structure.

The structure to copy

Each service page needs about 300 words and four things:

Where to start

Do not build twenty pages. Build three: your highest-margin service, your most-searched service, and the one you wish you sold more of. Watch what happens for a month, then add the next three.

Google is a librarian. Give it one clearly labeled book per subject and it will hand your pages to exactly the people asking for them.
